Maryam Yousefi successfully defends her doctoral thesis: “Conceptualization of Carrying Capacity Concept based on Landscape Ecology (Case study: Qazvin, Iran)”

Maryam Yousefi, who did a stay as a predoctoral researcher in the Area of Ecology and Territory of the IERMB, has successfully defended her doctoral thesis entitled “Conceptualization of Carrying Capacity Concept based on Landscape Ecology (Case study: Qazvin, Iran)” at Shahid Beheshti University. The doctoral thesis has been supervised by Shahindokht Barghjelveh, Naghmeh Mobarghei Dinan and Joan Marull, and has been based on the work carried out in the Metropolitan Laboratory of Ecology and Territory of Barcelona. The main objective of this research was to advance a conceptual and methodological approach to calculate the carrying capacity of agricultural landscapes in extremely arid conditions in the Qazvin metropolitan region in Iran, a fundamental aspect in climate change scenarios.
